Biography
Dan Harrison navigates life with a unique blend of military discipline, technological innovation, and a visionary approach to finance through Bitcoin, which he sees as the "money of peace." Born into a family with a legacy of military service—his father served as an engineer in the Korean War and was an inventor in retirement, and his grandfather as a cavalryman in WWI—Dan's career began in the Australian Army, where he served with distinction as a paratrooper and later as a combat team commander. His deployments included peacekeeping missions in Timor Leste and mentoring in Afghanistan, experiences that shaped his understanding of conflict and peace. Post-war service, Dan pursued higher education, graduating from the University of New South Wales with a Masters degree in Systems Engineering and a Masters degree in Capability and Technology. His academic pursuits led him to focus on Test and Evaluation, and Simulation, areas where he made significant contributions. One notable moment was his involvement in pioneering the world’s first trial of Free Roam Virtual Reality combined with biometrics analysis for combat training, a project that not only highlighted his innovative approach to military technology but also his interest in reducing the human cost of conflict.

In the civilian sector, Dan founded Innov8Ventures, a company dedicated to helping small to medium enterprises innovate through technology and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. His approach is grounded in his extensive experience in innovative systems-based thinking, strong governance and his belief in Bitcoin’s potential to foster peace. His engagement in semi-professional trading and investment in Bitcoin reflects his commitment to understanding and promoting this new financial paradigm to the world.
Beyond his professional interests, Dan plays both piano and trombone, and trains Belgian Malinois dogs.
